10 months of being a Junior

The last thing we want to happen usually in our lives is reaching the time called the end. The end of an experience we want to last, the end of the freedom we enjoy to do anything we want and now, the end of my Junior year.

Classes turned out to be free periods today. Everyone in my class seemed to be busy studying for our last mastery tests and exams. Most of my classmates were anxious to take our test in History class. Bea was wondering how she'll be able to pass and get a high a grade. Erk was confident that she'll get through it well. Burst was having the time of her life seeing the expressions of my classmates while she disturbed them in their concentration of studying by taking solo pictures for the "every year memory" of each classmate. Face powders, the smell of perfume and mirrors everywhere were to be found. Won't we miss the nights finishing our projects and home works, the cramming mornings to prepare for a quiz and the noise heard in the early mornings coming from our classroom? Of course, we'll surely miss these things. But these aren't the only things that I bet we'll miss. I remember the laughter we would do, the gossips we would share in the middle of class whenever we're bored (Ooooppps! Sorry teachers) and seeing the heads of the students down on their own desks that meant they're enjoying their sleep forgetting that classes are going on. Oh Juniors. Sometimes teachers think we're unbearable already or that we're too much. They think that we don't care about what we're doing as long as we're doing it our way. They might even get the wrong impressions of us being irresponsible and childish. Although, some of us aren't that close to the word silent or behaved, if you get to know each of us really well, I believe we are just teenagers trying to grow up. As Juniors, we are all doing what we can to survive our last years in high school. We might not be making right decisions along the way but because of our mistakes, we learn more about who we really are and what we want to happen in our life. Kudos to the teachers who have surpassed our changing moods, having the patience and understanding to control their temper when we're raising their blood pressures and for their love and support in every good act that we do. Without you guys, we would not be able to learn from all the formulas, terms, dates and names that we needed to know. Above all, the greatest knowledge we've learned and realized through this school year is that we should live up the values that our Assumption education builds for us.

It's not easy to let go of things that we don't want to come to an end. But as what I've heard, with every happy ending is a new and better beginning. We're looking forward to the next and final year of our high school. Our last chance. Senior year, bring it on.

*My junior year just ended today. Well, for regular classes that is with my fellow St. John classmates or "Johnsons" as what we would call ourselves. Next week we will have our final exams. And now I have to study first. Wish me luck!
