My Everyday Masquerade Ball

Nothing is as it seems.
We were masks everyday though it’s not Halloween.
We are never who we really are.
Our everyday disguises have fooled people so far.

Every move we do is being watched.
We never know whom to trust much.
Even our “friends” aren’t who they pretend to be.
Sometimes you would think, I only have me.

Why talk behind someone’s back when you want something to change.
Haven’t you realized all of us are just the same?
When will we ever get to stop faking?
When will we ever correct the reputations we are making?

So show you’re vulnerable, but remain strong.
Never let things end wrong.
One day we’ll show them what they have been dissing.
A person broken yet whose dignity is intact, no pieces missing.

*A poem written by me and one of my best friends, Burst.
